Wooden Fish - Fishing Boat White

Stock Status: In Stock
These rather fun wooden fish decorations have been created using bit and bobs of old fishing boats washed up along the coast by artist Andrew Ruffhead.

As a piece of fish wall art, each fishing boat fish features natural wooden driftwood pieces together with white bits that display a wonderfully weather worn appearance. The fish are finished with copper rivet eyes and etched metal fins.

Although the design of each fish assumes many similar qualities, it is the very nature of collected materials that gives each fish its very own unique identity.

Andrew lives in the pretty village of Burnham Market, a pebble’s throw from the stunning beaches of the North Norfolk coast.

Here he works in his studio gallery, producing pen and ink drawings, lino prints, cyanotype photography and artworks made from driftwood and reclaimed boats.

He studied Painting and Printmaking at Brighton Polytechnic, and then Printed Textile Design at the Central School of Art and Design. He was Head of printed Textiles at the University of East London for fifteen years as well as designing for many companies including Osborne and Little, The Designers Guild and Calvin Klein.

Andrew is passionate about where he lives near the coast with its big skies and vast sands. It’s real foodie heaven too, with Brancaster mussels, Thornham oysters, Cromer crabs and so much more in the fishy stakes readily available, it’s not surprising that there’s plenty of inspiration for his art.

His work is currently shown in many galleries around the country.

Due to the handmade nature of these fish, dimensions & individual details may differ a little from the images shown, but each will bring its own unique character and beauty.

There is a small hanging hook on the back.
