This full sized novelty Titanic teapot is part of a limited edition of only 250 pieces worldwide, each one is serial numbered and sold with a guarantee of authenticity.
The teapot is made in recognition of the ill fated voyage of RMS Titanic and is dedicated to her memory.
On her maiden voyage en route to New York in 1912 the Titanic suffered a terrible fate, following a collision with an iceberg at 11.40pm on the night of 14th April which sadly resulted in the loss of more than 1,500 lives.
She has become one of the most famous ships in history, her memory kept alive forever by numerous books, songs, films and tributes.
Handmade by Carters of Suffolk in a manufacturing process little changed since the early 17th century, each teapot takes around a week to complete and is an item of unrivalled quality.
The waves have been given a lustre metallic glaze, which gives the sea a wonderful iridescence, whilst the anchor has been highlighted using precious gold.
Using a slip moulding process, the semi porcelain, high temperature earthenware teapots are individually hand painted using rich under glaze colours.
Each item is unique due to the hand crafted process, so there may be slight variation in brush stroke and colour as a result.
Although the teapot is fully functional the design is likely to be collected or displayed as an ornamental object. In collector terms the item could be described as very rare since it forms part of a limited production run.
