It’s easy to see how the Giant Heart Cockle acquired its name, when viewed from the side it shows a beautiful heart shaped outline.
The shell comes as two halves which when opened present a lovely hidey hole for precious trinkets. In fact this species if often used as a Seashell Ring Bearer for wedding rings in seaside or coastal services.
