This charming painted box frame has two wonderful blue boats pulling into harbor and is simply entitled Two Steamers in a Box by the artist Craig Askew.
Made from driftwood and other found materials, it has been decorated with images and words taken from some of Craig’s original drawings and applied into the hand painted surfaces.
As a painter, sculptor, illustrator and printmaker Craig is always engaged in the making process and is constantly searching out and developing new ways of creating work and is currently exploring and experimenting on different surfaces.

Craig’s style has a simple, likeable immediacy with wide appeal.
Based on the border of Somerset and Devon, he has been creating art based on the sea and coastline for many years with much of his inspiration coming from the seaside villages of Cornwall, Devon and Dorset.
His work is shown in many galleries predominantly in the South West of England.
