This quirky and unusual mixed media picture has a wonderful freshness. It is entitled The Sails Dropt Down and is by the artist Craig Askew.
Set within a simple painted wooden frame, the piece is made from driftwood and other found materials. It has been decorated with images from some of Craig’s original drawings and these have been applied into the hand painted surface.
As a painter, sculptor, illustrator and printmaker Craig is always engaged in the making process and is constantly searching out and developing new ways of creating work and is currently exploring and experimenting on different surfaces.
