Two beautifully detailed, hand carved puffins on a softwood block. The Puffin spends its life at sea fishing for sand eels. It comes ashore to breed in the spring on grass-topped cliffs, preferring old rabbit burrows. Its colourful bill fades later in the year, after the breeding season. The new chicks “jump-fly” and scramble by night down from the cliffs on which they have been bred.
