Into That Silent Sea - painting

This original mixed media picture is entitled Into That Silent Sea and is by the artist Craig Askew.
 
Set within a simple painted wooden frame this picture has the rustic feel of sea and sun bleached surfaces.

The work has been made from a hand painted driftwood find with decoupaged images from some of Craig’s original drawings imposed onto the surface.
 
As a painter, sculptor, illustrator and printmaker Craig is always engaged in the making process and is constantly searching out and developing new ways of creating work and is currently exploring and experimenting on different surfaces.

Craig’s style has a simple, likeable immediacy and a freshness that brings a wide appeal.
 
Based on the border of Somerset and Devon, he has been creating art based on the sea and coastline for many years with much of his inspiration coming from the seaside villages of Cornwall, Devon and Dorset.

His work is shown in many galleries predominantly in the South West of England.
