Four Shells Lino Print

Description
This original lino print is simply entitled Four Shells and is by the artist Marnie Baker.
The simple design of this linocut is inspired by many happy hours beach combing for shells from her local beach.

Marnie grew up and still lives just a stone’s throw from the Solent on the south coast in Hampshire. As both an artist and print-maker she is continually inspired by the ever changing sights, smells and sounds of the sea.
The linocut is a printmaking technique similar to that of the woodcut. The image is carved into a block of hessian covered by a thick piece of linoleum and then inked and pressed on paper to create a print. The technique really came into its own after artists like Picasso and Matisse began to work in the medium.
Each one of these limited edition prints is an original work of art and is technically known as an impression. They are supplied ready mounted. Each is individually hand printed, signed and numbered by the artist.
When framing, consider using a really deep mount to highlight the design, it gives any image a much greater impact.
Printed with cyan blue paint on to watercolour paper. Limited Edition of 50
