Description
There’s no doubt about it Fish and Chips taste so much better when eaten out of doors, though it can be a fight to keep your catch from the swooping seagulls.
With a simplicity of line Alison Collins cleverly conjures up coastal memories within her drawings, each picture is individually hand drawn and is a unique artwork in itself.
Having studied visual communication design at Middlesex University, Alison has worked as a graphic designer for the last 20 years.
The saying goes ‘a picture paints a thousand words’ and similarly a few simple well-drawn lines can convey a subject, stir emotions, a thought or feeling.
Her inspiration mainly comes from the seaside, particularly the Cornish and Dorset Coastlines.
Being by the sea makes me feel energized, calm and peaceful and now I have two small children the whole experience is heightened, full of fun, laughter and happiness.
When I’m drawing all these feelings come flooding back. I hope my pictures give you the same experience.
