European Lobster Print

Description
With a lovely mottled surface design, this fabulously detailed European Lobster print is taken from an original illustration by Martyn Warren.
Perfectly suited to any coastal themed room its designed to complement other prints in the artist’s crustacean series.
Martyn’s illustration work is characterized by almost obsessively high detail. Working in a digital medium he likes to incorporate natural media, coloured papers and screen-print textures into each illustration.
This is achieved by working in layers, sometimes numbering hundreds using a graphic programme with custom brushes to enhance and refine each piece which can take upwards of two months to complete.
I've always held a fascination with nature and with animals in particular says Martyn. It seems natural (sorry) to combine this interest with my education in illustration (first class degree) to produce these prints.
They were originally designed as a series for my own coastal-themed bedroom, but after being practically instructed to do so by friends and family, I've decided to bring them to a wider audience.
Expect my range to expand into fish and seabirds as the months and years progress.
Other illustration work by this artist also includes a published book entitled ‘Velcro Cows’ and contributing to an episode of Driver Dan's Story Train on cBeebies.
The European Lobster or common lobster are a clawed species found in the eastern Atlantic, Mediterranean Sea and parts of the Black Sea. Its scientific name is Homarus Gammarus.
Each print is made using fade-resistant inks on to 200 gsm cartridge paper with a smooth matte finish
Sold individually or as a set of four - lobster, green crab, prawn and red crab. (others in the series can be seen in the related product section to the right) .
