With its slender down curved bill the Curlew can probe deeply into the mud in estuaries and salt marshes. Its distinctive cry, which echoes its name, is unmistakable once identified and thereafter always reminiscent of the empty places this bird inhabits. In spring the bird’s territorial call is a bubbly rising crescendo of notes, which can be heard over its upland breeding grounds.
Beautifully hand carved and painted wood.
